Shopping around for a car can be a time consuming and stressful task: checking on mileage, safety, and picking the right model. But have you ever thought of contacting your insurance agent to help you make the right choice? Before buying a car it is important to contact your insurance agent because your premium depends on the car’s safety record, potential repair costs, and likelihood of theft. It pays to do your research before you buy a new car!

Driving with a cell phone is an accident waiting to happen. The increase in cell phone use has lead to a rise in the number of people talking on the phone while driving, leading to more potential accidents. The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration found that users of cell phones or other electronic devices while driving caused far more crashes and near misses than non-users. A study released April 2006 found that almost 80 percent of crashes and 65 percent of near crashes involved some form of driver in attention such as cell phone use. Avoid the costs and consequences of car accidents…don’t dial and drive!

With holiday season approaching its important to keep a watchful eye for those thieves. They often watch shoppers take parcels to their cars and they know once a shopper returns to the mall, they will have moments to make their move. So, if you have more shopping to do, it would be wise to move your vehicle to a completely new location in the parking lot. It's a great way to avoid having your car broken in to or even stolen. Also, remember to keep your valuables in the trunk away from plain view.

With the holiday season here, the roads are much more congested. This means the chance of road rage increases, so try not to be a victim. Prepare yourself for road rage by following these tips. Drive defensively: Don't tailgate, stay in the right lane for other drivers to pass, and be gentle with your horn – Its not used as a tool to punish other drivers. Instead show courtesy by waving to that driver who lets you merge in front of them during lines of traffic, as a "THANK YOU”.

HOLIDAY SEASON IS HERE AND THE FESTIVIITIES ARE IN FULL SWING. EVEN THOUGH IT’S THE MOST JOYOUS TIME OF THE YEAR, IT CAN ALSO BE THE MOST DISASROUS – FIREPLACE MAINTENANCE IS IMPORTANT TO PREVENT A FIRE AND ENSURE THE SAFETY OF YOUR HOME. HAVE YOUR CHIMNEY CLEANED OUT ONCE A YEAR…CREOSOTE IS A TAR-LIKE RESIDUE THAT BUILDS UP IN THE CHIMNEY WALLS AND IS HIGHLY COMBUSTIBLE. CONDITIONS WHICH CAUSE CREOSOTE BUILD UP: RESTRICTED AIR SUPPLY, UNSEASONED WOOD, AND COOLER TEMPERATURES. TO FIND A CERTIFIED CHIMNEY SWEEP IN YOUR AREA AND TO LEARN MORE ABOUT KEEPING YOUR FIREPLACE CLEAN AND SAFE CONTACT WYNN AND ASSOCIATES INSURANCE AGENCY.
